As launched on June 8th 2011, there was no other mobile platform encroached by Bouncity except Blackberry. It was promised that Bouncity would be launched for Andorid and iPhone platform on June. However, it seems that only after September the application will be available.
Occupying the time before the platforms ready, Bouncity launched its mobile web version that can be access from any cell phones, especially for those feature phones available in Indonesia. You may just need to click http://m.bouncity.com from your mobile browser.
Basically, the appearance of Bouncity’s version for BlackBerry and mobile web are quite similar. According to COO Bouncity, Kevin Osmond, after login, you may complete the challenges provided such as check in, quiz, and answer a question. All the things you can do in Blackberry Bouncity, can be done in mobile version as well.
Hovewer, take a picture and claim reward feature are not provided in the mobile version. Both need API that is not supported by mobile browser. In addition, we need to input our position manually for the mobile site, it is not automatically used GPS like in its app.
With this mobile web version, Bouncity targeted to have 60.000 users by the end of this month with more new users use the mobile web version. Today, Bouncity has already had 36.000 users and cooperated with some famous merchants around Jakarta such as Sour Sally, Munchies, The U Coffee, Celebrity Fitness, Sushi Mori, Domino’s Pizza, Burger King, Tin Pan Alley, Bakmi GM, X2 Club, Dairy Queen, and XL Axiata.
Not only deals, Bouncity also challenges the users to play the game while checking in, including giving reward in the form of badges. It can be said that Bouncity take a chance missed by foursquare and put games in it. Bouncity also represent Indonesia in Echelon 2011, last June in Singapore .
