So, which countries that we should put more attention to this year?
During a press conference on the new format and slot qualification of FFML (Free Fire Master League) and FFIM (Free Fire Indonesia Masters), I asked the question to Saeful “EVOS.Sam13” Muharrom and Riza Setiawan. EVOS.Sam13 is one of the active players for EVOS Divine (a team that participated in FFWS 2021 Singapore). While Riza is a Free Fire coach for GPX (one of the top teams in Indonesia).
Both of them mentioned Brazil, Thailand, and Vietnam as the best countries in the current global Free Fire esports scene. Riza said that Brazil teams have a methodical setup, good rotation, and impressive META. He also said that Thailand and Vietnam teams have good setup and rotation.
Sam13 also agreed with Riza regarding the aforementioned countries. However, he also hoped that Indonesia will become a top rank country this year. Also, Sam13 said that he’s interested in seeing India rises to the top this year. “It’s been a while for India participating in the world stage, so they could have better morale and experience to be one of the best.”
Looking back to FFWS 2021 Singapore, Brazil and Thailand were indeed the top teams in the tournament. EVOS Phoenix from Thailand was the champion of FFWS 2021 and LOUD from Brazil was the runner-up. Meanwhile, Vietnam sent 10 players to FFWS 2021. It’s in the 4th rank regarding Country Representation (below Brazil, Thailand, and Indonesia.)
