What is it with Fridays and word of Yahoo! employees leaving the company? We were informed that Jimmi Kembaren, who’s only been with Yahoo! Southeast Asia for just over a year, is leaving the company next month. He handles the technical side of business development, a position he’s held since February of this year. Previously he was partner support specialist and YDN evangelist at Yahoo.
Kembaren was hired in 2010 following Yahoo Open Hack Day in Jakarta in late 2009 where he created Twittermania which then evolved into Twiterus, an analytics engine for Indonesian tweets. As Twitter rolled out Local Trends in early 2010, Twiterus felt the heat and reworked itself to add a collection of popular links and news shared by Indonesians on Twitter. Just as Kembaren launched version two of Twiterus, he came aboard the purple ship and sold his project to Indo.com for an undisclosed sum.
Kembaren confirmed to DailySocial of his move just as he was about to board a plane to Hanoi this morning. As for his next project? He’s not talking yet although it’s likely to be another startup.
