Alpha JWC Ventures involves in Pre-Series A funding for Base.vn (Base), a Vietnam-based startup developing SaaS platform for corporate. The funding has reached $1.3 million, also led by Beenext.
The previous investors, 500 Startup and VIISA are also involved. The cash injection becomes the biggest in Vietnam in SaaS and B2B sectors.
“Base’s mission is to build a future work (process). We imagine in the next five years, the company will effectively run and manage its work through technology,” Hung Pham, Base’s Co-Founder & CEO, said.
He also said in the past two years, they had built a special model which capable to integrate various apps into one centralized channel.
Regarding this investment, Alpha JWC Ventures’ Co-founder & Managing Partner Chandra Tjan said to offer solutions for the corporate sector has its own challenge. Base, with its product, is confident enough to be the leading SaaS in Vietnam.
“Pham is a serial entrepreneur with strong technical founder and we believe in Base to be the leading SaaS platform in Southeast Asia and beyond,” he added.
This is Alpha JWC Ventures first investment in Vietnam. Tjan explained in his official statement, after Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia; Vietnam is considered to be the country that soon to have a large technology startup in Southeast Asia.
Base, through this funding, plans for regional expansion. However, the current priority is to recruit more talent for product development.
“Our first priority is to acquire more talents for product development and build a strong foundation for expansion in Southeast Asia by mid-2019. Supported by its product, solid team, and strategic investors; we are optimistic to be the leading SaaS platform in the region,” Pham concluded.
