Today I ran into AliExpress’ new Indonesian site that’s already live. The Chinese e-commerce giant has been roaming Jakarta looking for partners and although it seemed like they were having problem finding a partner, they finally launched their Indonesian site complete with Bahasa Indonesia support and better shipping to Indonesia.

AliExpress, founded in 2010, specializes in offering products from Chinese merchants, and the site continues to grow especially in markets including Russia, Brazil and the U.S. A subsidiary of Alibaba Group, Aliexpress enables Chinese wholesalers and manufacturers sell merchandise to global consumers. Alibaba primarily earns revenue on AliExpress through transaction fees, which is typically 5% of gross merchandise value (GMV) settled via Alipay.
