A Logistics Aggregator Platform Shipper is Reportedly Securing 294 Billion Rupiah Worth of Series A Funding

Shipper is to facilitate e-commerce for logistics management

Shipper, the logistics aggregator platform is reported to have secured Series A funding of $ 20 million or equivalent to 294.3 billion Rupiah. The round was led by Naspers with the participation of previous investors, AC Ventures, Insignia Ventures Partners, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

This news was first released by DealStreetAsia; we have contacted Shipper’s Co-Founder Budi Handoko and AC Venture Managing Partner Adrian Li to get detailed confirmation, however, both are reluctant to comment on the news.

Previously the company closed its seed round in September 2019, raising funds worth $ 5 million or equivalent to 70.3 billion Rupiah. Investors involved included Lightspeed Ventures Partners, Floodgate Ventures, Insignia Ventures Partners, Convergence Ventures, and Y Combinator.

Since it was founded in 2017, Shipper has presented an integrated dashboard to help online sellers in e-commerce manage customer order shipments. In this dashboard, business people can easily get the most efficient logistics service recommendations, including pickup scheduling and integrated reporting.

Shipper’s internal data showed there are currently around 2500 logistic providers in Indonesia with various business scales. The Shipper service has also been used by around 25 thousand online merchants in Indonesia. This year they are targeting to have 1000 micro hubs for pick up and 20 logistics centers. The regional expansion has also been announced, targeting markets in Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Shipper has other founder, besides Budi, he is Phil Opamuratawongse. Last year, the startup successfully joined the Y Combinator accelerator program in Silicon Valley, precisely in the Winter 2019.

In Indonesia, the “smart logistic” platform continues to develop. In terms of aggregator platform, besides Shipper, there is also Anjelo officially launched at the end of 2019. They offer logistics services, including last-mile delivery, cargo via air and sea, customs services, and warehousing.

In addition, with a model that is more integrated with its platform, Bukalapak also launched BukaSend. Aggregate services from logistics partners who have joined the company to facilitate consumers with shipments and courier orders.
