GDP Venture and Go-Ventures, the latter one is Go-Jek investment arm, confirmed their investment in an online media platform, Narasi TV. It was founded by Najwa Shihab, a professional journalist who now involved in media startup founders. The investment value is still undisclosed, to be announced at the official launching of Narasi TV in two weeks.

“GDP Venture and Go-Jek [Go-Ventures] are now our strategic partners. The discussion was a long time ago, but further information is yet to be announced, it’ll be at the official launching of Narasi TV in the next two weeks,” Najwa Shihab, Narasi TV’s Founder said at The ICON 2018, Tue (11/13).

She mentioned the first investment will be used mostly to recruit more talents, develop technology, create events, and the rest is for operational. She said Narasi TV is currently growing fast in terms of talent acquisitions. The company now has 110 people to manage online content and develop communities within10 months operation.

There are 12 exclusive programs by Narasi TV. Some are being sponsored for monetizing, such as Mata Mata, Narasi People, Buka Mata, and others.

There is one exclusive program airing on TV, Mata Najwa, a partnership with a private TV station, Trans7. The last product mentioned has been airing for 9 years and has built a strong market in Indonesia.

“Next year, we’ll add three new content. The plan is to make dozens of programs to produce on Narasi TV.”

Shihab added, the team has been strengthening the offline communities called Mata Kita. It is now present in all over Indonesia, inviting people to make their own content which reflects each origin.

“Narasi TV is ready to fight for collaboration opportunity with some parties to make a stronger presence in Indonesia,” she said.
