Hari Belanja Online Nasional (Harbolnas / National Online Shopping Day) 2017 makes Rp4.7 trillion transaction, 4.2 times up from last year. The transaction misses the estimated target at Rp5 trillion, 50% up of Rp3,3 trillion last year.
Based on Nielsen’s results, Harbolnas 2017 partner, the transaction is a total amount collected from 11-13 Desember 2017. Biggest contribution comes from outside Java increasing at 82%.
“We are pleased to announce this year’s Harbolnas is attracting more and more Indonesians participating as consumers or sellers. Not to forget the various parties as parts of digital ecosystem to share the euphoria of a biggest national online shopping event,” said Achmad Alkatiri, Harbolnas 2017 Chairman, in official statement to DailySocial.
Claimed to be better
Nielsen explains further, around 68% of Harbolnas 2017 consumers are regular online consumers, most of them said this year’s event is so much better.
There are 27% first consumer in Harbolnas, and this year’s event is said to be successful in attracting first-timer online consumers for about 5%.
Regarding shopping time, Harbolnas 2017 is held on weekdays, slightly shifting the shopping activities at 09:00 to 12:00 AM, 03:00 to 09:00 PM. In addition, about 77% consumers shopping via mobile devices (smartphone and tablets) and no longer using browser.
Although claimed to be better, Harbolnas 2017 had numbers of people spreading inaccurate rumor. However, the committee believes most consumers are quite satisfied with the event.
For Alkatiri, the team expect consumers to understand better and get smarter in shopping online. There are many businessman, including enterprises experiencing the increase of online transaction.
“We are confident of Harbolnas 2017 goal is to give positive influence and contribution for creative industries in Indonesia, especially for local and enterprises to be achieved,” Alkatiri said.
