Google keeps on voicing about the importance of turning offline businesses into online. After presenting a series of schemes which support the acceleration of SME and startup growth in Indonesia, Google Indonesia launched Google Bisnisku that eyes on assisting local SMEs to enable their online presence couple of days ago (7/5).
Android One was Google’s first step in connecting people. The scheme was followed up by Leadership Program which enables SMEs designing their own simple app that represents their business. To support SMEs’ productivity, Google Indonesia also initiated Google For Work.
Later, Google Indonesia also inaugurated Google Bisnisku, a platform which assists entrepreneurs to make their business goes online. The registered businesses will be displayed on Google Search, Google+, and Google Maps.
Mira Sumanti, Google Indonesia’s Head of SMB Marketing, gave her words regarding the service:
“We expect SMEs to improve their business. We keep educating them, especially those with no online presence. Our target is to turn two million SMEs online by 2017.”
Business owners only need to utilize one single Gmail account and visit http://www.google.co.id/bisnisku via their desktop or smartphone. Then, they need to select three business verification methods based on their Physical Location, Service Area, and Brand. After filling out a brief form, they will receive a letter weeks later on the registered address. The letter will consist of verification code for their Google Bisnisku privileges.
Digital startups with no office may select the Brand option, while other verification methods include voice call and code which is directly sent to user’s e-mail address. Each and every Gmail account may register up to 20 businesses to Google Bisnisku.
In order to socialize this newly-presented service, Google Indonesia plans to hold a series of roadshow entitled Gapura 2015 in five big cities in Indonesia.
